Hi there,

I used Freeletics for a few years and actually liked it, until there was this problematic process concerning a problematic lifetime subscription offer. I quited the app and wanted to inform people concerning my experience.

I live in a country where normally, lifetime subscription does not apply. However, when Find Your Free Challenge was over, I received an automatic e-mail where it stated that I could apply for lifetime subscription and the offer was there for two days. When I clicked on the link, checked it from the app or from the website, there was no such option. Basically, the link directed me to the main page.

I e-mailed the issue to the support unit immediately and did not receive any response for at least two weeks. Then, I e-mailed again, explained the situation in detail, stated that they created the offer by sending the e-mail in the first place, and then provide a link that does not offer the lifetime subscription and requested a compensation by being offered a lifetime subscription. That two weeks of silence was immediately halted and I receive a response saying more or less that “No positive response can be provided to you, sorry.”

Now, I believe a company cannot just respond in this way. This is basically, subtly, stating that “Yes, we did, so?” More importantly, one cannot be unresponsible owing to automatically created e-mails and use “automatic e-mail” as an excuse. Though it is not claimed in such a manner, the silence implies this. Ultimately, creating an offer through an official e-mail and then not offering it without any proper explanation is an extremely problematic issue from the consumer/buyer perspective. Therefore, I quited.

I just wanted to share it with people.

Best,
