Ultimate Strength feedback for Coach

Could someone please explain how feedback works in Ultimate Strength?

As I understand it, there are two ways to tell the Coach about the difficulty of a workout:

  1. Adjust the number of reps, the weight, or even substitute an exercise during the workout.
  2. Give feedback after the workout when the app asks how the last set felt.

Which option provides the Coach with more useful information for adapting future workouts?

For example, let’s say I’m assigned 3 sets of 10 reps, but I can comfortably do 15 reps.

Should I:

A) stop at 10 reps in each set and, after the workout, tell the Coach that I could have done more in the last set,

or

B) do as many reps as I can in each set and update the actual number of reps during the workout?

In other words, should I prioritize in-workout adjustments or the post-workout difficulty feedback when my goal is to help the Coach learn my actual fitness level?

Hello, @mwietecki thank you for sharing the question here. Short answer is option B.

The most useful signal for the Coach is the actual number of reps you can do unbroken, so do the reps you’re capable of and update them during the session (keep the upcoming sets in mind so don’t max out set 1 at the expense of 2 and 3). Those adjusted numbers are taken into account from your next session onward.

The post-workout feedback works best on top of accurate rep logging.

Let me know if you experience any issues after trying this. Happy training :clapclapstatic:
