Limit variation of weights during internal

Like I assume many others here do, I have a 20kg pair of adjustable dumbbells (2x2 kg bars + a total of 16 kg of 1 and 2 kg discs) from Decathlon.
This setup allows for up to 2x10 kg when training with the pair, or up to 1x18 kg when using only one.

I have added all of these as available equipment in the coach, like so:

  • 2x6 kg
  • 2x8 kg
  • 2x10 kg
  • 1x12 kg
  • 1x18 kg

This setup works fine most of the time. However, one thing I find annoying about this is when the coach assigns exercises with different weights in the same interval, without any rest in between.
For example, in a single interval, I get 6 rounds of

  • 10 x Dumbbell Bent Rows with 10 kg

  • then 15 x Double Dumbbell Shoulder Presses with 8 kg.

This means that for each of these 6 rounds, I have to change the weights to 10 kg to do the Dumbbell Bent Rows, then back to 8 kg for the Shoulder Presses.
As my dumbbells do not have a quick mechanism to do this, it can take me up to a minute to change weights, which is often longer than the assigned rest between rounds, and definitely annoying when no rest is assigned between sets in a single round.
Multiply this with the number of rounds and intervals, and I’m easily looking at 10-15 minutes just adjusting weight during a single coach session.
This is, of course, only an issue when multiple different weights are used in a single interval, not when different intervals use different weights.

Suggestion: Add an option to the coach that either limits each interval to a single weight, or forces it to assign breaks between sets to allow us to change our equipment.

Yep, I’ve had this issue too. When I work out at the gym it’s fine as I just hoard multiple dumbbells to the annoyance of other gym clients, but at home sometimes I feel like I spend more time changing the dumbbell weight than actually working out :joy:

I have this problem too and it is a huge pain! I have one set of adjustable dumbbells. I’ve set up my equipment for all possible weights, but when I’m in a workout routine with consecutive dumbbell exercises of varying weights I spend a lot of time changing out weights. I would much rather be able to do X sets of a single exercise then move on to the next exercise or for a routine to be structured in a way that I’m not spending a lot time changing weights.

Please solve this! Not everyone can have a full set of fixed weight dumbbells at home.

Hey everyone, I know it’s not ideal but would getting a third adjustable dumbbell solve the issue, or another 2x2kg bar? That way you can have your double db and a single db not having to switch weight that much?
Also not ideal, but you could set it up your setting as having only 1 db (single weight from 2kg to 18kg, but no pairs) , and set up 2 db with different weight. You would then do all exercises one side after the other. For example here, 10x single arm Db row, 10 each arm. Then 15 shoulder press on one arm, 15 press on the other arm.
Again not ideal, but maybe that could help until FL release an option for this?
