Is there a reason why the proposed God Workouts always include ATROPOS or some variations of it. I noticed there isnt much variety there. It keeps proposing Atropos over and over and over. Must be a bug I guess?
I got the Same issue. But I have a different god. Always the Same.
Are there any restrictions like excluded body parts, train quite, no space, no equipment, excluded exercises?
None of this
I have the same issue! Different god (like Luca.l) but always the same. And my conditioning session is always three god workouts–one of which is always Selene (which, for me is a killer). The app tells me to manually select a different workout and/or do fewer reps. I wish the app would notice that this workout is too hard for me and adjust!
I’m not sure why nobody from the freeletics team provides any feedback on this…
I know the freeletics team won’t care, but after so many questions (about the algorithm, training, etc etc.) and no response, I gave up and moved on to something else. If answering their customers’ questions isn’t important to them, I’ll accept it too but it doesn’t seem like the right way to me.
I just tested again after weeks. Restarted my journey and Switched the first week to gods only.
They did not fix it.
I have 3 totally different Sessions. But once I switch them to gods they all become the Same. My week looks like this:
MON - 3/4 Atropos
WED - 2/4 Atropos
FR - Atropos
What a variety.
Hello everyone ![]()
I’d like to explain how we approached assigning “God” workouts within Ultimate Strength, given its main focus, new components (Activity Selection), and Adapt Options (Change Session Focus).
1. Journey focus
-
Ultimate Strength is primarily strength-focused (~80%), with some room for cardio/endurance activities (~20%).
-
Users can expand the cardio component by opting in for HIIT Strength and Running, or choose only Traditional Strength for a purely strength-focused journey.
2. How “God” workouts are assigned
For sessions with “God” workouts (when users opt in to HIIT Strength):
-
The purpose of “God” workouts in Ultimate Strength is to support the cardio/strength-endurance component of the journey.
-
The algorithm selects from a pool of Gods with a cardio or strength-endurance focus, excluding those with a purely strength focus.
-
From a sport science perspective, introducing different training stimuli helps improve endurance, which benefits strength training in the long run (e.g., better recovery between sets and sessions).
-
Assuming Adapt Options are not overused, Ultimate Strength typically assigns around 10 God sessions throughout the journey.
-
The system also repeats certain Gods intentionally, to measure progress and provide ongoing challenges—just like in our other journeys. That said, we’ve noted your feedback that some users feel there’s too much repetition, and we’ll keep that in mind for future adjustments.
3. Regarding repeated Gods @luca.fl
In your specific case, it’s likely that Train Quietly is enabled in your Space. This significantly reduces the pool of available endurance Gods, which can lead to more repetition. If possible, training in a Space without this restriction will greatly increase the variety of bodyweight exercises and Gods available. If the issue persists or related to something else, feel free to reply or schedule a chat via link shared below.
Overall, feedback here help us a lot to improve – we are currently considering few options to address this issue, either by adjusting Adapt feature or indicating to the user when limitations cause too small pool of Gods therefore repetition as you all described above.
Although we are not able to always respond in a timely manner from product development side, we read here regularly so appreciate you all taking the time.
It’s also worth noting that Ultimate Strength is the first journey built on our upgraded training paradigm and algorithm. Our goal is to bring similar flexibility and personalisation (Adapt Options, Activity Selection, alternative exercises) to other goals/focuses.
Happy to have further chats if you would like to share more feedback Calendly
Thank you!
Hey @idil.bozay .. you were right. It Was indeed limited. Now without limitation i get Charon and aura everyday.
Not a fix.
That makes sense but it seems the pool of possible God workouts must be extremely small and could benefit with the inclusion of some of the more strength focussed ones as they still provide a HIIT challenge without demanding the kind of strength focus required by free weights.
Hey @luca.fl
Thanks for the quick reply ![]()
We just dig a bit deeper to understand the issue you described, and the detail we were missing was that you were adjusting all the sessions in advance to Gods, which caused the same Gods to appear for all upcoming sessions.
This happens because of a deliberate technical decision based on our assumption of how Adapt sessions are usually used. When a session is adapted, the algorithm looks back at the completed sessions (not the planned sessions in the calendar). For “God workouts variety,” the algorithm looks back at your recent completed sessions, then selects a workout that fits your workout time and capability, while trying to avoid repeating the same Gods too close together. That means when you adapt future sessions (the next one, the one after, etc.), it always looks back at the same workout history—i.e., only the completed workouts.
Once you complete another workout, the system will use that updated history and you should see more variety in Gods going forward. If the same issue keeps happening after that, please let us know.
Thanks again for taking the time to share this and showing us different ways of using the features beyond our assumptions, and areas we can improve. ![]()
Hey @idil.bozay
Alright, thank you. I will try that. The reason for that is that many German users want a Only-Gods journey like in the early days of freeletics. So that is why many of us use it that way.
If you come up with a gods only journey please let me know, because this will make it much easier for a lot of us ![]()
