Creating a Custom Workout on Freeletics: A Test of Patience

Hello,

Yes! It is possible to create a custom workout, but honestly it’s a real pain to do, and the setup takes an insane amount of time!

For example, choosing a duration for a specific exercise or even just swapping the order of two exercises!! I give up…

Maybe this is intentional on Freeletics’ part?

I can just compare with Whoops custom workout creator, and just could wish that Whoop’s one would be easy and fast as Freeletics’ one. You can easily copy exercises, breaks and even rounds. You can easily switch between reps or duration in seconds. As I said before, I can only compare to Whoop’s (absolutely pain in the ass). To which one do you compare? And what do you miss?

Hello

I don’t know or use whooop but you should try to create and modifiy any list on your iPhone (ie weather app) and you will probably see the possible improvement for Freeletics.

Creating or modifying a training should be much faster than it is at the moment.

Regards,

So, creating a workout is being compared to creating a shopping list, for example?

Sorry for asking this stupid question. But to be honest, I still don’t get the point where exactly the creator is slowing down the process. There are in fact some necessary settings (choice of exercise, choice of reps or duration, amount (reps or seconds), preparation time). But you can still copy once done for one exercise and adjust the part to be changed (like exercise).

Ok To illustrate my point, do this:

1/ create a new training

2/ scroll and choose a exercise for both side (if possible at the bottom of the list) and pick the one for your left side

3/ modify duration (60 sec by default) or repetition (10 by default)

4/ now for your right side, you have go through the same process. The list is back at the top and you have to scroll down again to your exercise and do the modification again

It would also be great if the exercise list could be sorted not only by name but also by type of exercise…

Maybe your ambassador status blinds you a little or you are trolling me but we can both agree that this module could be much much user friendly than it is at the moment.

I am really to help the tech guys to improve it if needed.

good day

I do search the exercise by name using the magnifying glass icon. And in case of an exercise for both side, I would copy the first side and just change the exercise (using search).

To be honest, my ambassador status does not impact my opinion on features. Feel invited to look around in this forum to find a lot of doubts and critics by myself

I agree with point 4. This is a kind of detail that is often overlooked by app developers, but makes a ton of difference.

It’s one of those things that no one cares until it’s not there.

That said, I don’t use the feature much, but I recognize it’s much better now than it was when it was introduced

Also, because most of the time we train simmetrically, that is, both sides, it makes sense to make adding and editing exercises for both sides at the same time in some cases.

With a bit of thought this use case can be supplied, without being too rigid.
