Hi everybody,
I started this TJ yesterday, and today I encountered something unexpected with my training schedule that I wanted to bring to your attention.
Here’s what happened:
Yesterday, I had an Upper Body workout. Today, I completed a Lower Body session. However, when I checked tomorrow’s scheduled workout, it had changed from Upper Body to another Lower Body session.
Originally, my weekly schedule was set up as alternating upper and lower body days. I was quite pleased with this as it meant I’d be hitting barbell bench press again on the fifth day, just like on day one.
Today’s workout was definitely not light, and for the exercises where I didn’t modify weights or repetitions, I still gave an “OK” feedback. I suspect this sudden change in my schedule and the back-to-back lower body days might be a bug. If this isn’t a bug and it’s an intended adjustment, please let me know the reasoning behind it.
Regardless, I will follow the Coach’s current recommendations without adapting the workout, as I want to observe how the program’s progression and organization unfold.
For reference, my current settings are:
5 training days per week
45-60 minutes training time
“Traditional Strength” mode
The only excluded exercise is Back Squat (because I found this makes the Coach suggest Front Squat, which I prefer for various reasons).
Thanks for looking into this!
Same here and I’ve noticed it happens every week. Workouts change dynamically each time I complete a day. For example, this week split for four training days was supposed to be: lower / full body / conditioning / lower. However, just after yesterday’s lower body day the next days changed to: upper / conditioning / upper.
I’m wondering why. Is it because of the feedback I give and Coach decides I need to focus on something else or other parts need rest?
The workouts schedule changes dynamically indeed (as mentioned by Christian) as the feedback of completed sessions is taken into account and as a result this may impact on changing the focus (upper/lower/full) for the next days.
However, 2 consecutive lower body days shouldn’t be happening We’ve already deployed a fix for this. If you update something in your Coach settings (you can change it back straight away) it will refresh your sessions.
Is it normal that if you implement over 60 minutes woekout time you get something like 15-20 minutes if you adapt to a god workout. When i adapt the god workout to 45 mins i get something like 30ish
Plus i get the same 3 gods the whole week and it doesnt get any harder eventhough i told the coach too easy twice already
I encountered this bug in the previous Dumbbell Strength journey: whenever I adapted the coach session by removing a body part, the durations would get screwed up.
It looks like this bug has progressed to the Ultimate Strength journey too.
EDIT: insert redundant edit so I can post this again..
Since we can now adapt a workout during the session and give feedback after the session, I was wondering if one solution is better than the other. For example, if I need to do 12 reps of an exercise, but can only do 10 ( and perhaps even less in the next sets), is it better to change it during the workout or give "too difficult " feedback once I’m done?
As the feedback screen says, tell the coach if it’s too hard so that it can reduce the intensity next time. If you only managed 8 reps in the last round, adjust the setting during the workout. Afterwards, the coach will ask you to use that same setting for future sessions. I suggest accepting this.
You will probably be able to do more reps next time than the coach suggested because you started with a higher number of reps this time. However, it’s better to start slowly and improve from there, to avoid injuries and imbalances due to excessive loads.
Thanks a lot for this amazing training program. This is really helpful and efficient.
Some quick wins that could be implemented to make the experience even better:
suggest allowing the user to define several profiles of equipments (equipments 1;2;3 etc) to allow switching as whether being at home, to the gym or outside on the fly (similar to the “no equipment” option);
when adjusting the exercise to be a running session; it’s always a free run whereby you offers god trainings with running options or could be intervals, against the watch etc. also (dunno if it’s a glitch on iOS) but if I say 30 mins and a run then the system goes automatically to 50 mins and disregards the time constraints; or ask the user to set the running goals (like for the create workout program e.g X split of Y meters /secs with Z seconds recovery after each set etc.) in the app or differ to iOS Watch App (which will not add points to the Freeletics score btw)
when personalising the training session cannot select more challenging exercises; it will always be easier ones (noticed on iOS) on my end;
These are suggestions and we can adapt in the app (1) by changing the equipment before the training but it’s not efficient, (2) managed externally and importing exercise afterwards, (3) do different exercises on our own but coach will not be aware.
Hi everyone, I started the ultimate strength program and as a training methodology I chose standard strength, hiit strength and running. Now I ask you if for each workout it makes sense to change the focus and put it on full Body except obviously the conditioning or running days. This is because sometimes I can train two days sometimes three sometimes even 5. In this way a full body would allow me to always train the whole body even when I can do a few workouts a week. Thanks
My idea is to do one total body day and one running or conditioning day. I would like to know from those who are doing this training journey how they set it up. Thanks.
Hello! Hi I would like to know this. In ultimate strength each exercise has its own rep range and does it always remain the same or does it change based on my changes or does it follow a periodization? For example if today he gives me incline bench 4x15repsx15kg but I do 4x8repsx20kg what will the coach do next time? Will he always give me 15 reps with a heavier weight or will he adjust the reps and weight? In that case it would be nice to have an option to be able to choose which rep range to work like 3/5 5/8 8/12 12/15 15+ based on goal(more strength, hypertrophy or resistance)
Thanks
How is it possible that you finished the journey in less than one month? Don’t you think it should be better to increase intensity and duration of the sessions and do 4-5 sessions a week?
Daily 1-2 workouts are the biz as usual for me… sometimes short ones about 30 mins or a bit more… changing in-between running, Gods and other choice as given… my health over the years is prof for the choice, even with Operations happening
