Update to the app training flow (A/B test Android only)

I want to say that I like the new UI more and more, yiu can postpone or remove workouts/intervals and you will go faster from workout too another workout But the very large icons of the exercises in the overview is too much information.

Hey! I actually liked the new look and more info just out in the open as prefer scrolling to clicking open every interval to see whats in it-so its good look for intervals!
But big error part was when God came into workout😅. It did not show the gods name or how many reps of what is included. Tree pictures of Metis exercide is not enough info to understand what the WO is all about.

Concerning this, it doesn’t show the number of reps of workouts with various numbers each round (like Metis).

I guess Freeletics stole my Instagram riddle idea (“Guess which workout I did” by showing me picturewise doing the workout) :joy: It’s easy to see when you’ve done every workout like I have.

For me it does show the God Name, and the number of rounds, like for Sunday it shows “2/5 Aphrodite”. and below that it does show the individual exercises. Today it shows “Amazonas”. What it does not show (and it would be quite complex to show) the reps per exercise for the Aphrodite one, given that not all rounds have the same amount of reps, where for Amazonas it does show it given every round has the name amount of reps.

@felixblanke I guess you have some other stuff like exercises (besides warmup and couldown) around your named workouts? I just see their names in cases like this. But only having a workout, it’s unnamed

Yeah, I’ve 25 jackknives after the Amazona, or some technical training before the Aphrodite. Sounds like a bug then what you are seeing.

Hi,

Totally agree with @vtnvarma in his previous reply:

“Clicking the exercise and opening at glance would be even better. As some exercises we are unfamiliar with. We can take look before starting everyday workout”.

It would be much easier to open the exercise instructions by clicking the pic of it. In fact, I have no idea of what to do to review the exercise before starting the workout… Are we supposed to go to the day before just to see how to do proper exercises?

Thanks for all your efforts, guys. You´re doing it the righ way. Well… almost… if only you brought smartwartches back…

I gave it a try today. It’s possible to move parts of the coach day, so I’m fine with it - unless the missing workouts name when only a god workout (without interval, skill Improvements or finisher exercise) is assigned.

At first look I like it very much. There is a detail that I very much dislike and it is that in the dumbbell journey I am not able to see which weights I will have to use before starting the training and that is very unconvenient.

Ah u got lucky if it showed god name😅, i think its a must have! About the various reps, yes i get the complex part, but sure there are work arounds. They could write like 10+25×10 or total 45 burpees.

Hi @Ben ,
My feedback is similar…in ongoing Kettlebell journey, it’s not helpful to just see “varied weights and reps” instead of the actual weights that I would be needing. The old way helped me to keep the weights ready and kind of prepare me mentally. Now, the only time I know the weights needed is when I actually start the interval. Please add these details. One way I can think of implementing this without clutter is to show the reps/weights when I click on an exercise, along with the technique video too (in the new UI, even the technique videos are shown only when the interval actually starts; I’m someone who checks out the videos in advance :slightly_smiling_face:)

Otherwise, I like the overall fluidity in this new UI. The Warmup and Cooldown being collapsed by default is welcome.

Thanks!

Did my first workout today with the new flow and it is a huge improvement, probably the best update to the app for the last 4 years.

Except for some minor things pointed out already (like can’t click on the exercises to see the video, weights not shown, etc.) this is 100x better than the old interface.

Great improvement in my opinion.
If I could also collapse/expand the workout section (like warm-up/cools down) that would be nice.
The button to change the workout is also better in the smaller size.

Now only, please, get rid of the smallish button to finish a workout

@Maxim and others contributors,
Thanks for sharing your feedback!
I also don’t want to create fake expectations on the finish button, but it is currently considered going back to the click/swipe anywhere on the last screen to finish a WO.

Wow, I’m truly shocked! I didn’t see that coming at all. One small button for Freeletics, one giant leap for Athletes. I promise not to cry!

I have just done my fourth session with this new view and overall…I really don’t like it! It has added nothing to my experience but has introduced plenty of annoyances:

  • Doesn’t show rest periods for god workouts or intervals
  • Doesn’t show no. of reps for god workouts if they vary by set
  • Cannot click on the god workout to see the missing detail outlined above
    • Also can not see PB for a god workout without starting the session, which you could previously when clicking on it
  • Everything is expanded by default, annoying if a session has e.g. cleans left, cleans right, side plank left, side plank right etc, makes the list very long for some sessions
  • I also don’t see the benefit of it all being expanded by default when you cant then click on the video to view it. Having a static shot of a common exercise like a sit-up isn’t very helpful, and if its an exercise you don’t know/remember then you cant view the vid anyway
  • Have to postpone an exercise if you want to do it in a different order rather than just click the one you want to do next
  • Cannot view overall session once started without going back to main screen, then continuing workout
  • If you postpone an exercise but then go back to the overview screen, you have to postpone the exercise again once you continue the session

Personally, I had no issue with the previous view and found all the info if I wanted with an extra click or two, rather than the multiple clicks now needed to get round the issues above

Still a freeletics fan though! Just did my 800th session

Please show all exercises of a workout.
Facing Helios, it should be nice to know you have to do 100 Burpees twice.

(I personally know it but this must be a shock to recognize the second set of 100 Burpees if Helios is not that familiar.)

I would like to be able to see the workout videos before starting the session.

The new interface only adds an unnecesary wall. Too much information but not helpful, images are not the way to go.

Please add a link to workout overview.

Android 7 - can’t even update the app since ages -_-

When will you go back to the previous interface? Freeletics is starting to get on my nerves. Miss the Freeletics I started with. The Goliaz app is starting to look a lot more appealing.
