Adapt Session in detail

Why are there only vague options to change a proposed session? Why, for the love of good can I not edit, remove or add exercises to a proposed workout?

Why do I have to keep pressing „l want a different session“ until I get a workout by chance that fits my requirements?

Also why cant I change completely from repetitions to time based workouts? I do not want to have to touch my phone 30 times while doing a workout. I had to completely create a new workout to achieve this, which took ages… searching and adding every exercise and then manually changing every exercise from reps to seconds… my god, what am I even paying for???

May I ask which training journey you are on? I am asking because if you have specific requests to your training, the new hybrid strengst jouney will give you the most degrees of freedom to change your individual workouts.

In any case, you always have the chance to exclude certain exercises using the coach setting. This will always generate a new workout (if that specific exercise was in your current session). I sometimes use this feature if I really cannot be bothered with certain exercieses that day or if I want to see another trianing session. That said, you have to remember to include them again if later you want to resume with the full library. Also, afaik in most training journeys the number of excluded movements is limited, while in the Hybrid Strength you can exclude as many as you like.

Another feature you could use is just deleting entire intervals out of your workout and replacing them with you own choice by creating your own workout (if you want an interval) or just choosing individual exercises.

About the time based workouts, I think that is a thing really not implemented yet for coach sessions. (For Hybrid Strength this again is implemented for Warmup and Cooldown only but not the actual intervals.) Guess this would have to be a new feature request.

I am on the Start Strong journey, I already have excluded certain exercises, but there are way to many I would like to exclude. I don’t want to comb through the extensive list and exclude all these exercises manually.

I just want to be able to remove single exercises or replace them in a workout.
I know I can adapt the session, but the options are quite limited, if I want to exclude certain body areas it just says lower or upper leg, How about Knees? Nope… .

Also creating my own exercises is a whole hassle of its own. It took me about as long to create a workout as it took me to do the workout itself afterwards… no thank you.
About the time limited exercises, I think I found people talking about this feature on the forum years ago, how is this still not an easily toggled on/off feature?

All in all I am thoroughly disappointed with the App, I expected more for this price.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. This has actually been one of the most frequent requests were hearing: being able to switch a single exercise within an interval or session for various reasons.

We’ve designed and rolled out a new journey called Ultimate Strength this year also to address exactly that. I’d suggest giving it a try — it allows you to swap to an alternative exercise during a session (look for the “C” button on the top right of the page). You’ll also get more granular Adapt options.
