Barbell Training journey

Short question: started the barbell training journey and was a little confused about some exercises. Coach tells me to use 17.5kg…how should I do that, given that the blank barbell (olympia one like mentioned in the equipment tab) already has 20kg standard without weights? Is there a failure in the algo/coach?

Hello! I believe that you can change the weight at any time and mark in the coach settings the equipment you have available (including the loads).

Sure, I may change the weight. But how can the coach suggest 17.5 when a normal barbell has its own weight of 20.0? Should I cut the ends? No kidding. But serious, that makes no sense. So for me the algorythm should be changed.

And by the way, for dumbell I can note the weights (load) available - for barbell not. That would be another optimization to be considered, as I have no 2.5 loads for example…

A normal Oly barbell for men. There are plenty types of barbells with weights between 1KG (Hot Iron as example) up to 20KG.
As there’s no way to tell the coach which kind of barbell you have, the only option is to adjust the weight to empty bar’s one.
