I’ve started the dumbell gain journey, how can I remove the single leg deadlift? I can’t keep in balance and I do’t want to injury my knees.
Hey Marcelo
You can’t exclude any exercises on this Journey.
Why don’t you change the weight to something extremely light, or even “0” kg until you get used to the movement? 99% of the time it’s not the exercise that’s the problem, but the weight.
I have similar problem with this exercise. It’s hard to balance and my hamstrings are always super sore day or two after.
I usually help myself with holding onto something with my free hand in order to complete workout with best possible form I can.
It’s far from perfect but it’s better then me losing balance and sacrifice form.
I tried without weight but my issue is with balance.
Then I feel like you should work on that first. Also another trick is to look at a fixed point while doing things were you have to be balanced.
Starting your dumbbell journey is awesome! If single-leg deadlifts feel tricky and you’re worried about your knees, it’s totally okay to skip them for now. You can try other exercises that work similar muscles without putting too much strain on your knees. Focus on exercises like squats, lunges, or step-ups to build strength and stability first. And if you want, you can always come back to single-leg deadlifts later when you feel more comfortable and balanced. It’s all about finding what works best for you and your body. Keep up the great work!"
