I don't see results in the Dumbbell gain

Hello,

I have been using the Freeletics app since February, and I am quite satisfied with it. From the very beginning, the exercises were a lot of fun for me. I saw results quickly, and after three months of following the weights-free gain program, I was amazed at how defined my body had become. My abs were particularly prominent.

After these three months, my coach recommended me to start the Dumbbell gain program. I thought it was a good idea and decided to start working out with dumbbells. However, I must admit, the program didn’t suit me from the beginning. The coach assigned me with very difficult exercises that, as a beginner who had never worked with dumbbells before, I couldn’t complete. I ended up spending up to three hours on the exercises and felt overstrained. I tried to gradually adjust the program so it wouldn’t be too overwhelming for me. Over time, the program began to demotivate me. Despite working out regularly, I just don’t see the results. The exercises seem monotonous and much less varied than in the previous program. Eventually, I got used to it.

Now it’s the end of July, and I feel like I’ve regressed. While it’s true that lifting dumbbells has increased my arm strength and improved my overall posture, I’m disappointed that my abs are no longer visible and I feel less defined overall. Given the effort, I expected more. Simply put, the program doesn’t seem as effective. Sometimes it even includes exercises that I can’t fully complete, and I don’t have the option to inform the coach. With the previous program, it seemed like there were more options to modify the exercises.

I would like to ask what I should do in this situation. I’m not questioning the effectiveness of your app or the program itself. However, as an amateur working out at home, I’m considering whether it would be wiser to return to the previous program and start using dumbbells when I have access to a gym. Alternatively, I could choose the previous program and add dumbbells to it.

Thank you for your response.

Best regards,
Jakub
