Many thanks!
If you’re on vacation and don’t have equipment, you would just use the “Adapt session” option to reflect this
It would be nice if interval running was integrated,in addition to free running
I did the first session of the day and used my barbell, kettlebell, dumbbells, and fascia roller in one session. It was so cool and exhausting.
I love this new journey.
The warmup with pure duration timed exercises instead of repetitions was interesting and I like both variants using time or number of repetitions. I would also like it if the sessions switch between the warmup options. Nevertheless, the duration timing is cool.
I also like the cool down, it used the fascia roller a lot and took 5 minutes. Could have been a bit longer but was well designed.
I had only two issues:
- The 30s break in intervals between two exercises is sometimes a bit short when changes on the equipment are need. It would be great if the breaks would be a bit longer such as 45 seconds. But that is a minor issue and I can accept if I am not fast enough and it counts already in the exercise time.
- My other issue is a personal one… I need adjustable dumbbells to make better use of the full range of dumbells. I got exercises with 20kg and will have exercises with up to 30kg for dumbells, but I do not have enough weights and space on my empty dumbells. So thanks Freeletics for given me the reason to invest more money in my equipment. I was already looking for adjustable dumbbells for some time, but so far lacked a reason to buy them
Looking already forward to my next session. Thanks for considering our feedback and developing this cool journey.
Hi @Horayshio this is great! I totally agree this is the best Journey!
I actually love the shorter time period in these last intervals, making them almost a conditioning intervals with weights, although I find them a bit too long of a rest on my end to make them purely conditioning
Hi @TomG
that is really a bit funny. Maybe I only need to improve my endurance as I was really exhausted in the last interval. However, I did for the last two journey only the training with barbell journey so I focused on strength rather than endurance. As a result, the breaks did not feel like breaks.
We will see how I progress and maybe I need a better organization in my home gym to be faster in the changes.
@Horayshio
My advice: buy the 2nd pair of dumbbells. I did and have been enjoying the variety and huge time savings ever since. There are never more than two exercises per workout on the dumbbell journey, so I don’t have to change the weight between sets - if at all. I assume that training with a single weight per set would ruin the variety of exercises. You have to work different muscle groups somehow.
Awesome news!
I look forward to switching to this journey as soon as I finish my dumbbell journey!
@Ben: If I understand correctly, for whatever reason, you still don’t allow users to adjust their equipment on the fly, do you?
Yet, I have read in the newsletter that we will be able to set up a “home” or a “gym” mode depending on the equipment available. Will these modes have to deal with a fixed set of equipment, too?
I just want to be flexible, e.g. being able to take my equipment to other places.
Hey @Christian
Thanks for the advice.
I already order another pair and some more weights. I think in this way it will work.
Fingers crossed
Will report later.
Day is the second session planned
As far as I understood, that is possible with the new journey “ultimate strength”. At least it’s possible to set gym, home and nothing.
Thank you, but that’s not what I’m asking for. I want to be flexible and take my stuff with me, spontaneously train in a different place with different equipment, or decide not to train with a particular piece of equipment today because it would be too hard or simply because I feel like it. The coach should be powerful enough by now to adapt to different equipment available.
It will, @Christian !
If you’ve tried Ultimate Strength out, and want to rave how much you like it with the team, please do
Hi there, I’m now halfway through the Ultimate strength journey. Would love to be able go let certain body parts rest during the journey weeks . If I set the focus on lower body Workouts, my shoulder nevertheless gets work to do. Perhaps the programming is still on its way to sort this out… it would be great help for people having had a (shoulder or whatever else) operation and working on getting back to normality, what includes very hard work;-). At least some 6kg Kettlebell snatches are done and dusted…
Thanks in advance!
Question (before I hit the sale tomorrow):
does the Ultimate Strength Journey combine dumbbells, kettlebells, pull-up bar AND resistance bands? THAT would be my dream!
In the Dumbbell Journey you can specify the equipment, but it is never used.
Hey @Christian, yes!! it includes ALL the equipment and the ability to add runs as well!
Hello, thanks for sharing, we currently look into how we could support such equipments better, would you like to help us by filling out this survey?
Hello, for this journey, we increased the number of exercises you could exclude to 50. Would it be an option for you to exclude those exercises you want to avoid from your settings?
Already done and dusted, Idil, however, it should be useful in the future to get exclusion options for core/upper body/lower body…
