Let’s make 2025 the year we all level up. Who’s in?
I am actually super excited to be part of this myself and I’ll start us off by sharing my own goals and story to kick things off.
Last year was a tough one for me—had a motorcycle accident that kept me from training for waaaaay too long. But now I’m back, feeling ready to rebuild, and this challenge is the perfect motivation to get moving again!
Here’s what I’m aiming for:
To lose just over 10kg (started at 80.6kg, currently at 77kg and I’m aiming for 69kg by May).
Build up my endurance on the road bike.
Log a 200km+ day ride before the end of the challenge.
I’m starting actually very fresh not having trained for so long. I know it’s going to be all about consistency, a solid training routine, and nailing my nutrition.
Looking forward to smashing goals alongside you all—let’s do this!
Why do I join?
I already made unbelievable progress with Freeletics so why should I not continue with a clear goal until May 2025.
I am currently exploring the Barbell Journey as I want to further increase my strength. In this regard, I love to do deadlifts. After setting a new PB deadlift with 161kg in December 2024, I want to achieve at least one new PB until May 2025 targeting for 165 - 170kg which would be 2.25 times my bodyweight.
My suggestions for a catchier name of the challenge:
Hello Ben.
I’m in. My goal will be to regain my condition and strength since last year I injured the wrist of my left hand and although I’m still recovering I don’t intend to be left behind.
I gained 8 kilograms in the last 6 months and I hope that those extra kilos will help me gain muscle.
I want to join to become better. Fitter, stronger, healthier and more disciplined. I’ve been struggling with consistency and diet lately and that has taken a toll on my overall fitness. I hope this helps. Thanks.
Ok, I’m in My why: I just turned 42 on Sunday, and I want to feel strong and fit, and be healthy. And prioritise getting there! Right now so often something comes up and I postpone my training…
Actual goals:
Hello community!
Glad to be joining the momentum and quite timely too!
My current plan (started earlier in Jan) is
To shred 10kg
To get back to playing squash as I used to.
For 1, I’ve started counting cals (hate it, but it’s only temporary). Already down by 1.5kg.
For 2, played my first friendly match last weekend! slowly getting back on the courts.
If anyone knows the perfect training program on Freeletics for Squash/Tennins players, please let me know!! I’m currently doing the “Hybrid Strength” program which I like very much.
As always, I am interested in Freeletics challenges!
My goal is to continue to improve myself by continuing, to continue towards a hybrid and adapted training to be able to initially reach the level of 70 km of run.
Then afterwards, improve myself for my Spartan races that mix strength and endurance. At the end of August, I will do my first ultra (50 km/ 75 obstacles) in the Czech Republic and I plan to do a good performance.
Technical level, I want to learn more movement in the field of calisthenia.
Hey Ben, good to see you back and also to better health! Sounds pretty scary
I’d love to partake and get my fitness and stamina back up again after yet again a long covid break.
Lots of things will change this year for me with a new job so I won’t have as much time as I used to, so I’m hoping that I’ll continue doing sports regularly and do another run this year. 10k at least.
But I also want to get stronger which I feel like I’ve not getting as much as I hoped to. But that’s probably also bc my nutrition isn’t as good as it should be
Luckily, I don’t have any problems with training routines (3 coaching days of Freeletics, 4 times cycling/Zwift, twice a week of rope skipping), so my goal for May is completely different:
I want to improve my deep sleep.
I’ve been tracking my health data with Whoop since August 2023 and have already been able to reduce my migraine days with the given insights.
However, due to a requirement to be present in the office for 20% of working hours (I commute two hours each way and, as a software developer with social phobia, I definitely prefer working from home), I no longer have a reasonable sleep routine: I do get enough sleep in the REM phase (and am at least mentally fit), but the slow wave sleep phases are so short that since the introduction of the requirement to be present, I’ve been so tense that painkillers are my best friends.
So my goal until May: to get back into a sleep routine that works for both home office and office days and thus increase the SWS phases in my sleep again. And continue to start each day with yoga, end with a percussion massage and meditate before falling asleep.
@Ben I’ve gotten so into the cycling game that I use Zwift to cycle in the winter (this year I’ll also have my first small gravel race). Do you train outside or also on Zwift?
I think “renew and rise” would be a suitable name for the challenge.
