I did see your Reddit post yesterday and was going to respond, I’ll give an explanation here
There’s a couple of things to consider
- This Training Journey (I’ll just use TJ from now on) isn’t one in which you should expect longer distance runs. The longest run you can expect to be assigned on this Training Journey is I think 7-8km, and that comes right at the peak of the Journey dependant on feedback.
- The Running TJs are quite cyclical in nature, so at the beginning of one, the assigned load is very much reduced from what your maximum is. The absolutely atrocious picture I’ve drawn below is a crude representation of this.
- The initial assignment of the runs is impacted by the answers you give in the assessment before starting this TJ. If, for example, you say the most you’ve ever run is 6km in the last 2 years, then the Coach is not going to start you off at this-It’s going to start you at maybe 1/4 of that distance, and then over the course of your TJ, you’ll follow the progression outlined above.
This is just an explanation of the behaviour I am not saying that it is perfect and couldn’t be improved.
