For the warm-up exercises, I am unable to successfully complete the “scorpion” with correct technique, barely even able to bring my leg halfway to my hands.
Any possibility of adding a skill progression for these types of exercises or any recommendations on helping users to fully accomplish these exercises?
Personally, I’m not a fan of using “exercise” in context of mobility.
I guess chances are zero that there will ever be a training journey or a skill path for mobility.
In the end, Freeletics is a fitness app and although mobility is a very important part of every day’s life - it’s very hard to measure (highly dependent to individuals anatomy), first improvements are a question of years (and not weeks like e.g. fitness) and - most important one! - mobility should neither evaluated nor compared to any other one.
Take the time you and your body needs to improve your range of motion, implement a mobility routine. This could last years but it’s worth it to work on mobility.
melaLetics already gave a very good answer. I really love scorpions, so I wanted to answer as well.
Do not confuse the range of motion with technique. Everyone has a different range of motion in mobility exercises, and with practice it gets better. It is totally fine if you cannot reach your hand with your foot - this doesn’t mean incorrect technique. Focus on the technique - slow, controlled movements, aiming to keep chest, shoulders and hip on the ground. Engage your core and do not force the stretch nor arch your lower back. And do not worry about the range of motion - it will get better the more you try this, as well as other mobility exercises.
