What is the optimal number of training days for muscle growth using the Dumbbell Gain journey?

In Dumbbell Gain journey, there is a choice of 3,4 or 5 days training per week. 3 days a week if 3x full body, 4 and 5 days a week become progressively more split routines. Which one is optimal for muscle gain?

ie. If 3 days produces 50% gain (made up value) and 4 days yields 52% and 5 days 52.3%, then I’d say 3 days is optimal (time vs reward).

Thanks for any advice

Hey, i don’t know about that but I know that I liked 4x a week the most because of the good split of upper and lower body. 2, 3 and 5 times a week is always full body with just one lower body exercise per workout if I remember correctly. Hope that helps

Hey @fol7y1xo, I think it really depend on how YOU want to train, what time is available to you and what split suits you best.
If you can’t dedicate to working out 4-5 days, then a full body split with 3 days is best, if you can, then 4-5 days is also a great option.
What I have found is that the full body option targets your whole body 3 times a week, focusing on compound lifts, whereas the 4 or 5 days will add more accessory work to target specific muscles.

It’s really upt o you and how you body recovers I guess. You would have more volume in a 4-5 days splits vs 3 days but a 3 days split will focus on big muscle group to make sure your training is always balanced.

Hi, and thanks for replying ! It seems that the app does split routines for 4 and 5 days now. So I guess the 5 does more, but whether it’s worth the extra time (instead of going for a run) IDK. Cheers.

Hi Tom. Thanks for the insight. I think that sorts it out for me; get into a good routine with 3 days for now and see how I progress. Cheers
