I have trained with the Freeletics Coach for more than 8 years now, and it has been beautiful since day one.
However, 1 or 2 years ago, I decided to take a break from Freeletics and planned my own calisthenics sessions.
Now, I wanted to come back and start with the coach again.
Here is the problem: back then I had workout sessions with Muscleups, Pistols, Pullups and Handstand Pushups. But now, it seems like every skill is locked and I have to start all over again: the coach gives me Pikes to learn the Handstand Pushups and Band Assisted Pullups to learn Pullups (but I already have all those skills!!!).
I’m desperate because I feel like I’m losing progresses without training those skills and for the coach it takes a lot of time to integrate them again in the routines.
Do you guys have faced, or are facing, the same problem?
That’s a shame but seems like coach has blocked those skills for you because of prolonged absence from training with the app.
Even though you have trained on your own coach doesn’t know that.
I don’t know if there is a fix for it other than going through progressions again until they are unlocked once again.
I’m sure it would be faster to unlock them since you already have those skills.
Excuse me for unrelated question but can I ask what made you stop with your own training program and going back to FL coach?
This is a bad news, since I need to work on my handstand pushups but the coach won’t give me that option (and I’m obliged to start from Pikes again).
I started working out with Freeletics in 2014 and that was my first experience ever with bodyweight training. I took a break because I wanted to learn calisthenics skills: front lever, planche, freestanding handstand pushups… and I couldn’t do it with Freeletics.
However, I’m back on Freeletics because I was missing all the beauty of endurance training. Pure calisthenics was too static and I wasn’t sweating enough. There was no “athleticism” involved (running, sprinting, jumping… agility, speed).
When I have the same issue I adapt the program and do something more progressive or a variation and just log it as excellent and it usually moves on pretty quickly.
Hope that gives some sort of quicker progression for you.
Hey @camarca,
If you already know those skills you can show the coach by performing some (10-20 reps, and maybe repeat). You can do that by clicking on single exercises (or something like that) further down on the workout screen. Then you put in the amount of reps and give the best feedback. This should show the coach that you can do them already and give you more variety.
