Flexible programmes for gym

I enjoyed doing the barbell and dumbell strength programmes. However, they become quite repetitive. Not only does that become a bit boring, but I feel they target the same muscle group in the same way each time.

Now Freeletics already has a great range of exercises (and recorded my weight/reps) accross body weight, dumbell, barbell and now even using gym equipment like the cables.

I would love to see (maybe both):

  1. A training programme that combines exercises of different types including body weight, barbell, dumbbell, cables (for example barbells on the leg day, dumbbells for legs etc etc) with dynamic ability to adapt workout to be more focussed on any one type of training
  2. When selecting a new workout for the day (e.g where it allows to select a god workout) it would be great to select a muscle group to focus on (which I know you can do today), but to have then the option to select type of weights to use (e.g. when doing the barbell or dumbell strength programme, there are clearly days focussed on lower body, it would be great to have those as options, where coach also remembers the reps/weights I do)

My primary use case is that I have access to a gym - so want to take advantage of the full range of equipment. However, I also want to train holistically and so mix up weights with body weight exercises (and to see real progress eg. To progress to handstands). And then of course great to adapt my workouts when I’m traveling / have to workout at home depending on the equipment. I want to be able to spend less time thinking about what to do and more time exercising!

Maybe some of this is already possible. If so, I’d appreciate if someone could help me understand how to do it best (e.g. I tried the hybrid routine, but there wasn’t a good balance of weights/equipment to use there - I would love more flexibility)

And just FYI I have already added the full range of equipment to the app before starting any journeys.
