Mountain hiking preparation journey

Hello athletes!
Any mountain hikers out there?
In two months im going for 4 days pretty intense mountaing hiking. So I’m wondering what journey would be good for preparing my body for this kind of effort?
I do run sometimes and strength train. I’m thinking about hybrid running or barbell strength + cardio on side. Any suggestions?

I’d focus on cardio/endurance training, and some training ti build strength in the lower body and the core. So either a bodyweight journey with high cardio points (those dots that go up to 3 near the journey name), or even a hybrid running journey that includes running and bodyweight workouts, like HIIT & Run or Run Further.

And outside of Freeletics, prepare by doing longer/more frequent hikes and maybe even loaded hikes if you’re going to carry weight.

And outside of the training topic, really good shoes! The worst thing that happened to me on a hike was when suddenly a severe shooting pain started in my knee when I was on top of the mountain and I didn’t know how to get back to my B&B.
