We are carefully reviewing all comments and will consider reevaluating our decisions once we fully understand the root causes of your concerns. We acknowledge the frustration coming from the sudden drop in the consistency score and appreciate your understanding. This experience has provided valuable insights, and we are committed to improving future updates, particularly those with significant impact.
We’re actively addressing the issues with the current Base system.
Here are some improvements in the works:
Retroactive base/streak updates: Your other activities will be counted for past days, eliminating the need to open the app daily.
Strava integration: This will benefit Android and Garmin users, as well as those without wearables, allowing for the recording of various activities like walking, running, and cycling.
It’s also important to note that our intention is not to prioritize users with wearables. We recognize that the majority of our users enjoy external activities, both with and without wearables. Our goal is to encourage and acknowledge an overall active lifestyle for ALL users. Looking ahead, this update is part of our long-term strategy to enhance the logic of the Coach. We see this as one of the early steps in that direction and are committed to continually improving your training experience. We therefore appreciate your feedback and patience as we work on these improvements.
Feel free to share any additional thoughts or concerns as we move forward with these changes.

But after a few days, I have to admit that it does motivate me to go for a walk on my off day or just do extra little stuff to get the DAS up again. Don’t know if it works for many people though
I’m back to my habit of not reading the feed anymore. Back in January, I absolutely ignored it because of those “for the base” posts. Now, first people started again posting just “for the Base”.
Not sure if I’m the only one being annoyed of this but in my case the base leads to less community interaction.
You can do anything you want with the score, as long you continue changing it, I can’t compare improvements along time. So for me, actually is completely useless.
Me: „Hello coach, can you help me to improve my fitness?“
Coach: „Of course! Tell me your number.“
Me: „Great! I can do 200 squats, 10 pullups, 100 sit-ups (unbroken), 90 seconds plank. I have injured knee, breathing problem, stiff shoulders and resting heart rate 35. „
Coach: „I need your DAS number, only that.“
Me: „Wait, what?“ … „Okay I found it. My current DAS is 70.“
Coach: „Hmm. Need more details.“
Me: „Performance 94, consistency 47.“
Coach: „A ha! You are not consistent! We are going to start from there.“
Me: „But I am never skipping workout!“
Coach: „Really? Hmm. How about daily base, are you …?“
Me: „I am not hitting daily base, I don’t know how to. Can you help about it?“
Coach: „Sorry but no. It’s up to you. My job is to help you. You are not hitting daily base. That’s it.“
Me: „But coach, my hands are weak …:“
Coach: „Daily base!“
Me: „Okay, thank you (let’s have some Nutella).“
In my case, DAS has no meaning at all. You are trying to cover a big area with one number without including a lot of (personal) factors. Your post says: “… real-time assessment of your current fitness level”. I am not able to see any correlation, nor how it’s going to help with anything. And also, if any of data I have mentioned has any sense for you, it’s all real.
IMHO, the training app is not ready to log all my activities. One can log only the freeletics training sessions and runs. Maybe the idea behind is good, to provide certain metrics on how active a man is, but due to the limitation to activities supported by the app, it is rubbish now. At least for me.
As some stats from the DAS are updated, usually after a coach workout, it would be great to have sth like a bubble notification on the sections that have been updated. For example showing a notification if there has been an update in the last week.
Navigating back and forth the stats looking for updates it’s a bit tedious due to the DAS progression animation.
You are not supposed to train everyday in order to hit the base. I already have a streak of almost 50 days although I trained “just” 23 of these days with Freeletics (it’s a bit distorted upwards due to a hellweek). The other days are full of recovery; I have s self created stretching programm for stretching in the morning and use the foam rolling one in the evening (using my percussion device instead of a foam roller) - I do both on an almost daily base. So the base becomes a “waste product” while giving something back to my body.
The new stats for Strength and Stamina are helpful if you want to increase the DAS on your own; it breaks down which exercises you have to perform in order to increase the value. All you have to do is to tap down.
In my case: if I wanted to increase the score of my lower body strength, e.g. Squats, I would toggle to “Wdh.” (reps), see which amount give me a score of “just” 85 and would then do more than this.
Thank you for this tip, I wasn’t aware of these stats and that it was showing one’s weak/strong spots.
Let’s see if I understand it right: in my case, a weak stat is “upper body push” in the strength groups. So pushups (that’s the main exercise in the upper body push category) are where I’m loosing points and I should do more of it if I want to have a better global score
Thank you for your reply. I wasn’t talking about frequency at all (how often one may or may not workout). Also, my performance scores are all over 90 (even over 95), so there is nothing to increase. What I was aiming for is context and disbalance in correlation with DAS. It doesn’t provide any insight into it. In my case, performance scores are all flat lines. Based on it, there is absolutely nothing for me in there. BUT, in a real life, there is so many things that should be improved, and DAS is not going to help.
I have started FL journey long time ago. With PDF. Before even application existed. During the time, I am witnessing evolution of it. I am missing max workouts, endurance and strength versions, “mourning” Hera and Iris … One thing is certain, change is inevitable. In FL case, I don’t like it at all. Yes, it’s more complex than ever. Yes, it’s shiny and powerful. Yes, it’s adaptive. But one thing that is declining is results. And when I say results, I mean impact over the time on me. After 12+ years, there is no more struggle. There is no more fight (I get 6 climbers to do!). One workout burns 200 calories (if following what coach has to say). Unless…
But, we have DAS. I guarantee you, with my DAS you are not going to have even partial picture of my fitness. In my previous post I was trying to use numbers against numbers, to paint small picture, to show how disconnected it is. Of course, all this is my personal opinion based on my experience and I can be completely wrong. Until I know better…
I started freeletics again after a long break (6 months). I do strength training. The coach was too over-motivated in the first few sessions. I reduced the weight during training and told the coach this. But I think that the original weight was used for the skill and strength value, not the one I had improved.
So my strength chart has been the same for 3 weeks, even though I’m constantly improving. Can anyone confirm this?
For example, the bench press says 66kg (3 weeks), but I never managed that, I was a good 20kg under that…
Another feedback:
I recently started the dumbbell gain journey and noticed again, that there’s exactly one exercise in the strength DAS, that includes a dumbbell exercise (double dumbbell shoulder presses), although there are several barbell exercises that tell the exact same if done with a dumbbell (f.i. bench press, bent rows). I really feel like the DAS is only usefull if you’re doing a bodyweight or barbell journey…
It is completely useless because the freeletics app is not capable of logging all your activities. Even manually it is not possible. Therefore the DAS can provide a more or less distorted picture based on activities which are known to the app.
I’ve made 25 pull-ups yesterday and I have made 50 burpees three weeks ago. The pull-ups are not lodged in DAS although I’ve been faster this timer. The burpees are logged in stamina but not in strength where a set of 50 burpees from 11 weeks ago is logged. Any idea what’s happening here?
