Weights for the dumbbell training program

Hello All!

I have a question regarding the weights

I have the following discs with the weight of 4 x 5 kg, 8 x 2 kg, 4 x 0,5 kg and the bars of 2 kg.

As you can see in the picture a lot of combinations can be made with them but I don’t know how to add this weights in the Freelectics in order to have all the combinations available.

I want to start the dumbbell program

You have to setup all possible combinations as pair (e.g. with your 4 5kg plates and the bars (2kg each?) you have a pair of 12KG dumbbells) and all other combinations not possible as pair as single dumbbells (e.g. your 4 5kg plates and a bar is one 22kg dumbbell).

Thank you for the response, I calculated and there are 225 combinations of the discs :)) so should I add them as pairs? Continuing with the examples I can setup a dumbbell with 2 x 5 kg + 4 x 0,5 kg a total of 12 kg plus the bar 2 kg = 14 kg and so on

Not sure what you calculated, but this is absolutely wrong. You “just” have 37 options (in case of the short handles don’t have the same weight as the longer ones 74 options).
Lucky you that it’s early in the morning, I haven’t been annoyed about my work yet and combinatorics are my hobbyhorse. I listed all combinations for you:

as pairs:
2KG (empty bars)
2KG + 2x5 = 12KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x2 = 16KG
2KG + 2x5 + 4x2 = 20KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x0.5 = 13KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x2 + 2x0.5 = 17KG
2KG + 2x5 + 4x2 + 2x0.5 = 21KG
2KG + 2x2 = 6KG
2KG + 2x2x2 = 10KG
2KG + 2x2 + 2x0.5 = 11KG
2KG + 2x0.5 = 3KG

single ones:
2KG + 2x2x5 = 22KG
2KG + 2x2x2 = 10KG
2KG + 2x3x2 = 14KG
2KG + 2x4x2 = 18KG
2KG + 4x0.5 = 4KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x1x2 = 26KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x2x2 = 30KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x3x2= 24KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x3x2 = 34KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x4x2 = 28KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x4x2 = 38KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x0.5 = 23KG
2KG + 2x5 + 4x0.5 = 14KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x1x2 + 2x0.5 = 17KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x1x2 + 4x0.5 = 18KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x2x2 + 2x0.5 = 21KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x3x2 + 2x0.5 = 25KG
2KG + 2x5 + 2x4x2 + 2x0.5 = 29KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x1x2 + 2x0.5 = 27KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x1x2 + 4x0.5 = 28KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x2x2 + 2x0.5 = 31KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x2x2 + 4x0.5 = 32KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x3x2 + 2x0.5 = 35KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x3x2 + 4x0.5 = 36KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x4x2 + 2x0.5 = 39KG
2KG + 2x2x5 + 2x4x2 + 4x0.5 = 40KG

Let me know if I missed a combination.

I guess you hadn’t realized when doing the math that there are a lot of redundancies when loading the dumbbells.
